My Very First BirchBox!

Hello Lovely People!

Today I cometh with a Birch Box post.

I know a few bloggers get this and at £10 plus £2.95 for p+p, you can't go wrong with a few samples of beauty products.

Here is what I got for this month, the chocolate was the first to go so no pictures of it, sorry.

I am pretty impressed with the products so far especially the facial polish and the eye liner. The Nail Rock can get quite messy but the results are amazing I have yet to use the shower gel and protection oil and of course the chocolate is gone.

Do you guys get any beauty boxes? If so, which one/s and what was your favourite item from them?
Let me know in the comments.

Also if you want to subscribe to Birch Box, please do so here.

Also I have started a YouTube channel so please watch my video, like and subscribe. It would be lovely to have people follow my journey with me!

25 Random Things About Me.

In the excitement of getting my laptop back, unfixed of course, I decided to start a YouTube channel.
I don't really know about the quality :S, on my camcorder it came out so much better and also there seems to be a part of the video what some of the questions have cut out.

OH WELL!!! It's too late to change that now!

So here it is, I hope you like it!

This is me!

Share some these facts about you, with me.

Much Love,

P.S This is my first ever video so please be nice.

Flower Power!

Hello Lovelies,

Just a quick update on my laptop first. I have sent it off to be fixed and hopefully will have it back by the end of the week. Thank goodness we have an abundance of then in my house or I'd be stuck and wouldn't be able to share my thoughts with you guys!

Okay, now moving on to the outfit post I have for you.

This is another dress I have seen many wonderful plus size bloggers wearing and I got it as a gift for Christmas but only been able to wear it now because the weather was so good over the week end.

Sorry for the squinting, the sun was in my eyes!!

  1. Dress, ASOS - Gift
  2. Cardigan, Marks and Spencer - Old
  3. Bag, H&M - Old
  4. Ring - A random shop in York
  5. Headband - DIY
  6. Shoes - Vans
I love this dress!! It is so comfortable, it's a size 20 and I wouldn't size down because I think it would have been too short if I did. I love floral prints and this dress would be perfect to wear in the spring and summer.

What is your favourite floral piece? Please do share!

I Feel Good!!

Hello Lovelies!

You know sometimes when you spend ages getting ready for a night out, an event or just a blog post, and the reflection in the mirror isn't what you hoped? This challenge is for those times when you look in the mirror, no pre planning involved, and think ''I look good today''.

We all have our good days and our bad days, but this challenge is to record those good days and to remember that confidence, at any size, is beautiful.

This is my first of this challenge and the picture I have chosen was taken quite a while ago but I felt great and think I looked pretty great too.

Sorry it is a bit late!

Have a look at the other wonderful ladies taking part.

My Laptop is driving me crazy!

Hello Lovelies!

I am so annoyed that I haven't managed to post as much as I would've liked. My Laptop is insane!! It's decided that it will only work when it wants to.

I am sending it in for servicing today so my posts may be a bit scarce for a while. I will try my hardest to get more posts up using my mums laptop.

Hopefully this will be sorted quickly!

I will post a couple of things today before I send it in, so watch this space.

Thank you for still reading!

Cut for Evans

Hello Lovelies,

Yesterday on twitter, a lot of bloggers that I follow were talking a lot about this event at Evans, which opened a new clothing line called Cut.

I quickly went on their website and looked up this line and I have to say I absolutely love it.

Here are my favourite picks.

I love these items, my wardrobe mostly consists of black, navy and grey and I want to add more colour into it. I think the cuts are very flattering and I love the prints!

I am currently on a 'spending strike' so I wont be able to buy any clothes this month but as soon as March comes round, hopefully I will be able to get one of these to add to my wardrobe.

If you are looking to add more colour to your wardrobe this Spring I advise having a look at this collection at Evans. Please share your favourites too.

OOTD - ASOS Tie Dye Maxi Dress

Hello Lovelies,

I come to you with another outfit post. People tend to view these most on my blog so I am guessing you like them.

  1. Tie Dye Maxi Dress, ASOS - £30 £12
  2. Lace Shirt, Wallis - Similar New Look - £22.99 £10
  3. Boots - Primark
  4. Earrings - Primark
  5. Necklace - Very
  6. Lipstick, Collection @ Superdrug - £2.99

I do like the dress but I think a belt would have worked better with it. The material is quite thick and the dress is a really nice length. It is really great for the weather right now and will be for the summer too.

I am still on the course of sorting my life out. It is sort of going well.

ASOS Pick of the week!

Hello Lovelies,

I have decided to do an ASOS pick of the week, I have noticed quite recently that this is probably where I buy most of my clothes.

Since I am on a money spending cut this month I thought I would share my favourite items with you guys each week (It will be one item a week).

I am a self confessed shopaholic, so this whole not spending money on clothes is killing me painfully and slowly. Not to worry, I am counting down the days tills I get to shop with some wonderful plus size ladies on the 1st of March. I will link their Blogs at the end.

So here is my pick!

I am loving kimonos at the moment, I think they are a great layer instead of wearing cardigans.
I like the mesh detail on this one and that the sleeves are just the right length.
And you can never go wrong with black either.

What is your favourite pick this week from your favourite shop?

Please do send me the links.

Sorting My Life Out

Hello Lovelies,

This week my job hunting has taken a bit of a back seat, reason being that I have not even heard one word back from any of the places I have applied to. Not even a rejection and it is very disheartening.
I am starting to get annoyed and upset and all my family and friends keep say, 'don't worry your job is out there you will find it/ it will find you' but I have been out of uni for a while now and to not even hear one word from anyone, I think, is crazy.

So, over the weekend and next week I have decided to sort my life out. I have obviously been going wrong somewhere and need to amend this somehow. I am having a revamp.

This is what I will be doing:

  • Clearing out my room from all the clutter (clear room = clear mind right?).
  • Also, trying to keep my room clear.
  • Re-writing my CV (done this about a million times)
  • Adding to my portfolio
  • Finishing my Masters application
  • Try to apply to about 5 jobs a week
The last bullet point may not seem like a lot but I currently apply to about 20 a week and someone told me recently that it is better to apply to 2 or 3 jobs that suit you well rather than 10 that you may not necessarily want to do.

If you guys have any advice on jobs and interviews then please do share.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Much Love,

Printed!

Hello Lovelies,

It's another outfit post today! Recently I have seen a lot of plus size bloggers with this dress on their blogs and the first time I saw it I fell in love with it.

I went to Bluewater a couple of weeks ago and this was the last one in the shop AND it was in my size. I snapped it up quickly ran straight to the checkout.

Dress - Evans - £50 £15
Jacket - New Look but I got it on Ebay
Shoes - Primark - £8 £4 (also come in red £4 and a beige £8 colour)

I just can't get enough of this dress! I absolutely love it. Here's the link just in case you want to buy one as well.

What do you think about prints for SS14?

If any of you follow me on Twitter then you will know I am not allowing myself to spend any money on clothes this month.

So, I will have to wait till march to buy any more prints. So sad, I know, but I need to curb my spending.

Do send me links if you so any prints that you are loving!

Review : Sleek Blemish Balm

Hello Lovelies,

Sorry I haven't posted for a few days, I have been busy applying for jobs and all that jazz.

I have come to you with a review. *Disclaimer* - This item was bought by me and this review is my own I have not been asked to do this by anybody.

And so it begins...

I love sleek cosmetics, I am not a make up genius and also don't want to spend tonnes of money on it either (as my funds are quite limited). I think sleek is very well priced and the make up is quite good quality too, compared to other brands I have previously invested in.

I use foundation and powder but I wanted something that I could just put on without spending too much time putting on in the morning. I looked at recommendations online and found blemish balm.

There are many options to choose from but the Sleek one was the cheapest I found that also had a great colour match.

The packaging is okay, it pretty much explains itself and is also very much like most sleek products with the matte black and shiny writing. This blemish balm also has spf 15 so its good for sunny days too.

The tube is a squeezable one, very easy to use and isn't messy at all.

Without Flash

The colour is a great match and feels quite light to touch and not sticky at all.

The coverage is great but it feels quite oily when its first applied, I would advise not to put any moisturiser on beforehand. It looks great without flash and quite matte but I can assure you it isn't. The picture with the flash shows very well how it looks in real life.

I am quite disappointed as I love sleek products and was really rooting for this one. I will continue to use it and do another review when it's finished to see if it gets any better.

Do you use the Sleek Blemish Balm? If so, what is your opinion on it?

Let me know in the comments if you have any other recommendations too.

Much Love,
